In 2013 the Porto Historic Grand Prix will take place from 21 to 23 June, and from 28 to 30 will take place the World Touring Car Championship.
From May to July the city will be particularly hot, bursting with big events, but during the entire month of June the city celebrates, as usual, Porto’s São João, with its highlight on the night of 23 to 24 june, while thousands of people come to the streets to become part of a unique event.
Visit the Racing Cars Exhibition, at the Taylor’s Port Wine Cellars, from 19 to 30 June. The cars in exhibition are Hélder Valente's Porsche Carrera 356A GT T2 , José Riobom's Formula Ford 1970, and João Miguel Batista's Porsche 997 GT3 Cup.

From 2005 Porto is back organizing the Circuito da Boavista, the competition that has placed Porto on the world motor racing map. In 2011, for 6 days and during the two events of this Circuit– Porto Historic Grand Prix (PHGP) and World Touring Car Championship (WTCC),around 220.000 visitors were able to enjoy live the emotion of historic cars and the World Touring Car speed, as well as a city in celebration. That year, the organization of the CB 2011 was granted the Kaizen Lean 2011 award.
The track, keeping its roots on the original roads - Avenida da Boavista and Estrada da Circunvalação, received new infrastructures and its design was renewed in 2011, offering better safety conditions, namely for the WTCC – World Touring Car Championship, which happened for the first time in 2007. Also in 2011 the Porto Historic Grand Prix began welcoming also motorcycles, allowing their dedicated audience more than significant reasons to come to the Porto Circuit.
Every two years, Porto hosts vehicles of many different categories, from HGPCA F1 Pre-1961 – Front Engine, HGPCA F1 Pre-1966, rear engine, Pre War Motor Legends, HGPCA GT/ SPORT – drum Brakes- , Lurani Formula Junior, Gentleman Drivers GT and Sports Enurance, Gentleman Drivers Sports racing Challenge, Sports Racing Masters (prototypes until 1964), Touring, GT and Sports Classics (Classics until 1981) , the World Sport Masters (GT and Prototypes until 1974, ex Le Mans), and the Grand Prix Masters (F1 Pre- 1978), as well as the Seat Leon Celebrities, The Datsun Trophy, the National Classic Velocity Championship, the National Classic Velocity trophy, and the Masters GT/ FPAK Cup.

The Porto’s São João celebrations, one of Porto’s landmarks, take place during the entire month of June. This year, its peak – the São João Night, from 23 to 24 June, is brilliantly closing the PHGP and making way for the WTCC, taking place the following weekend.
