Opened since 1909 and better known as "Piolho" (louse), this is one of the most charismatic and oldest cafes in the city. It is mainly frequented by students. Today it's one of the landmarks in Porto, not only for its history (which can be learned through the messages students post on the walls) but also for its gatherings.

Opened in the city centre in 2010 in a building of historic and recognised architectural beauty. With a cosmopolitan air and truly innovative concept, it is a café/pastry shop, restaurant and bar. The interior is decorated with leather and velvet sofas, acrylic chairs and an 18th Century candelabra and is wallpapered with black and white images of European cities. Here, customers will find homemade cakes and bonbons, snack dishes on the lunch menu and lively evening entertainment with cocktails and DJs.

Founded in 1896, it is located just opposite the South Gate of the Bolhão Market. It is a bakery and cake shop which bakes its own products throughout the day. It has a snack bar and a restaurant with buffet and a la carte service.

Located near the Boavista roundabout, this is a tearoom, pastry shop, confectionary and café. It has its own bakery which, amongst other delicacies, produces its speciality Bolo Rei (traditional Portuguese fruit cake). It also offers a range of cheeses, cut meats and wines.

The Farggi concept was born from the idea of producing high quality ice cream to be savoured in a unique and enjoyable environment. Here you can find ice cream (made with milk) and ice lollies (with ice) to which you can add any number of toppings, hot or cold, from chocolate to almonds and walnuts, raspberry coulis to whipped cream and fresh fruit. All this can be combined with tarts, pancakes, waffles, coffee, milk, and orange juice. Exclusive to this ice cream shop are the caipirinhas, mojitos, margaritas and vodka, all made with ice cream.

This café built entirely of wood has a pleasant outdoor seating area and perches on top of the rocks on Aquário beach. With fantastic sea views, it is the perfect place to spend a summer's afternoon or enjoy the sunset. At night, there is music and entertainment aimed at the younger generation.

A Café dedicated to beer service, offering 'francesinha' on 'crispy', assumingly one of the best in town, as well as salads, hamburgers with pineapple, crepes and 'The World's Best Chocolate Cake'. The bar will feature 'caipirinhas', long-drinks, mojitos, a varied gin selection, sangria and national and international beer, namely Super Bock, Chimay, Erdinger and Franziskaner. The room has background music, TV 3D 55'' and a decoration with strong references to the world of music.

Inaugurated in 1935, it has been at the heart of a number of historic moments on both the national and local scale. Restored in 2010, it brings together café, restaurant and beer house. It also offers a more intimate room on the lower floor with a pleasant outdoor seating area, ideal for dinners and meetings.
