Located in Jardim João Chagas, it was created by Teixeira Lopes (junior) and inaugurated in August 1904. It pays homage to the remarkable horticulturist José Marques Loureiro (the gardener of virtues), and is constituted by a bronze figure - the Flora - set on a stone pedestal, where one can see the effigy of José Marques Loureiro in a bronze medallion.
Located in Praça General Humberto Delgado, it was created by Salvador Carvão da Silva Barata Feyo, and inaugurated in November 1954. This bronze statue, which represents the poet, was conceived to mark the centenary of his death.
Almost at the extremity of the Ribeira wall, a bas-relief by the sculptor Teixeira Lopes recalls to memory the death of hundreds of people that occurred when the Barcas Bridge collapsed under the weight of those trying to escape the invading French army led by General Soult. The local population keeps candles burning as a memorial of the tragedy.
Sculpture by Tomás Costa, according to the project of Correia da Silva. It dates from 1926 and was inaugurated in March 1927. Located in Jardim João Chagas, it comprises a bust monument made of bronze, where the poet's work "Só" is mentioned, with flower bouquets and an allegorical line to his poetic inspiration.
Created by Teixeira Lopes (senior) in 1916, it is located in Jardim Teófilo Braga (Praça da República). A pagan allegory, it represents the Roman god of wine (Bacchus), son of Júpiter and Semele.

Next to Casa das Sereias there is a granite pyramid topped by an artistic forged iron pinnacle. It was used to hoist the "bandeirinha da saúde" ("small flag of health"), which set the mooring limits in times of plague.
Located in Praça D. João I, it was created by João Fragoso, and is of unknown date. The whole sculpture, made of bronze, is set in plinths coated by slabs of polished granite. It comprises a pair of two equal elements. A young boy tries to control a wild horse.
Equestrian statue: Located in Praça Gonçalves Zarco, it was created by Barata Feyo and Salvador Carvão da Silva D'Eça in 1966, and was inaugurated in June of the same year. The monument comprises a high pedestal of pare granite and shows the crown and the inscription of King João VI, in the main front.
Over this pedestal, the metallic statue, in cast-brass, represents King João VI on horseback. As if in movement the King holds the reins with his left hand and in the right one he keeps a globe, probably as a symbol of the imperial dignity achieved in 1816, due to the creation of the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and Algarve. It constitutes a replica of the statue offered by Portugal to the city of Rio de Janeiro, at the time of its 4th centenary.
Equestrian Statue: Made by Célestin Anatole Calmels (sculpture) and Joaquim da Costa Lima (architecture), this statue was erected between 1862 and 1866, having been unveiled in October 1866. The monument is made up of a base on which the two-sided pedestal stands. One of the surfaces show the donation of D. Pedro's heart to the Porto's representatives, and the other represents the landing in Mindelo. The statue that stands on the pedestal represents D. Pedro offering the constitutional charter to the city, and it was cast in Belgium.
Teixeira Lopes (senior) is the author of this sculpture, located in Praça da Batalha. It was inaugurated in February 1866. With a monumental octagonal pedestal, it has bas-reliefs in four surfaces, with the main facing north and showing the symbols of religion. The surface facing west shows the symbols of industry; the surface facing south, the symbols of agriculture; and the eastern surface shows the symbols of the arts. All the surfaces have inscriptions. The octahedrals have four panels, over which one can see the coat of arms of Portugal, of Porto, and of Saxe-Coburgo-Gotha. The statue stands on top of the pedestal. The base, also octagonal, is set on four steps. Over the steps are four medallions with the inscription of the names of the main contributors. The monument is surrounded by a melted iron railing, interrupted by eight pilasters.
Created by Américo Gomes in 1934, it is located in Avenida de Montevideu. This monument pays homage to the fishermen, represented by the man vigorously holding a helm. It is admirable for its movement, expression, and character. It was once considered "one of the greatest artistic revelations of the last years, in regards to the nationalist monumental sculpture in Portugal.
Made by Tomás Costa, it was erected in 1894 and is located at Praça Infante D. Henrique. The statue comprises several sculptured sets. At the top, there is the prince's statue, standing next to a globe of the Earth. The top part is joined to the pedestal by a neo-gothic phytomorphic stylisation. At the base, there are two allegorical sets: one Victory leading two steeds and two tritons, representing the triumph of the Portuguese sea voyages; a feminine shape symbolising the Faith in the Discoveries. The statue also has low reliefs by the pedestal, representing the conquest of Ceuta and the Prince in the Sagres promontory.
This work, created by João Silva, was inaugurated in December 1926 and is located in Largo Prof. Abel Salazar. It is an elegant sculptural whole comprising a feminine figure laying a wreath of flowers next to the poet's bust, with the bas-relief "The reading in family" decorating the socle of the monument.
Created by Henrique Moreira in 1929, it is located in Avenida dos Aliados. It represents a naked woman sitting with her arms resting in a double-faced plinth. Four grotesque faces throw water into a small tank.
Located in Avenida dos Aliados, it was created by Henrique Moreira, in 1931. It is a decorative sculpture of gilt bronze, and consists of three children supporting a cup with flowers and fruits that represent abundance.
Located in Avenida de D. Carlos - Passeio Alegre, it was created by the architect Rogério de Azevedo and by the sculptor Henrique Moreira, and inaugurated in March 1967. The effigy and the bronze sculptures are inlaid in a granite structure.
Created by José Rodrigues in 1992, it is located between the avenues Marechal Gomes da Costa and Boavista. It comprises a streaky marble sphere of 3.5m wide; an irregular prism of 20m high and irregular equilateral base of 6m wide; an irregular prism of 10m high and irregular equilateral base of 5m wide; a pyramid of 4m high and triangular equilateral base of 1m wide. The sculptural whole is enlivened with water and light effects.
It was designed and created by Sousa Caldas and Alferes Alberto Ponce de Castro in 1934, and is located in Praça do Império. It was purposely erected to appear at the Colonial Exhibition, inaugurated in June 1934, at Palácio de Cristal. It comprises an obelisk topped by the Portuguese coat of arms. At the base, six adorned sculptures are symbolic of the figures that strove to establish the colonies: the woman, the soldier, the missionary, the trader, the farmer, and the doctor.
Situated in Praça da República, it was created by Henrique Moreira and inaugurated in August 1961. This bronze statue remembers Father Américo, standing up, flanked by two "gaiatos" (little boys). The sculpture, which is set on a quadrangular plinth made of pare granite, is a work of sober but artistic lines, and was raised with the contribution of his admirers.

It constitutes an historical evocation of the sculptural architecture of magnificent splendour. It comprises an obelisk and several other sculptures with the symbolic figures of the Eagle (representing Napoleon's army) and of the Lion (allusive to the invincible mind of the Portuguese people).
Created by Henrique Moreira, and inaugurated in April 1928, it is located in Praça Carlos Alberto. The monument comprises a mixed work of architecture and sculpture, respectively, the elements of the base and of the pedestal that holds a soldier, in memory of the Portuguese soldiers killed in the 1914/18 war.
Created by Manuel Dias in 1990, it is located in Praça da Liberdade. It represents the newsvendor or the man who sells newspapers, leaning against a pillar-box.
It was created by José Rodrigues and is located in Praça da Ribeira. The cube is made of bronze, fixed upon one of its vertices, and is integrated in the reconstruction of an old fountain that was found in the place. Watercourses enliven the sculpture, which has some sculptured pigeons sharing the place with their living models.
Similar to obelisks, the piers can be seen next to the Luís I bridge. For merely half a century they held the Suspended Bridge that was dismantled in 1887.

This statue, sculptured in blue limestone is presented "with a straight look expression, facing forward"; and is fixed on a granite pedestal with inscriptions in its surfaces.
Located in Praça da Galiza, it was created by Barata Feyo and inaugurated in September 1954. This monument, dedicated to the Galician poetess, is cut in stone, and sets on green scenery.
